The American Border Collie Association, Inc Grants

The American Border Collie Association, Inc.- the ABCA- provides annual grants to assist individuals and organizations in their projects which benefit or promote the Border Collie as a stockdog and the Association as its registry.  The ABCA will consider grants for applicants according to the following guidelines:

PROCEDURE

A.  Requests should be sent to the Secretary/Treasurer, ABCA, who will forward them to the Chairman of the Grants Committee.

B.  Applications should be in the ABCA office by January 15th for winter review and by June 15th for summer review.  Completed grant applications will then be assessed by the committee and recommendations will be made to the entire Board of Directors for approval in whole or in part.

C.  Disbursements are normally made when receipts for expenses are received by the Secretary/Treasurer, who will obtain approval for payment from the Chairman of the Grants Committee.

D.  The Chairman of the Grants Committee will notify applicants of the Board's decision and is the person to contact once an application has been made.

AMERICAN BORDER COLLIE ASSOCIATION, INC.

APPLICATION  FOR GRANT

 

1)  Name of the project.  Dates and duration of the project.

 

2)  Name of the person or organization requesting the grant.  If an organization, indicate the appropriate signing officer.

 

3)  Describe the project, giving a detailed budget and indicating amount of grant requested.  At what stage in the project will funding be required?  Normally grants that are approved will be paid only when receipts of actual disbursements are received.

4)  Describe how the project benefits the working Border Collie.

 

 

 

5)  How many dogs do you anticipate will be involved?  How did you arrive at that number?

 

 

 

6)  How many people will be affected or reached by this project?  How did you arrive at that number?  Is the target group already involved with working Border Collies ( # ____)

or unfamiliar with working Border Collies (#____)?  Answer can include a combination.

7)  What is the message you will be giving the target group about the Working Border Collie and the ABCA?  How will you deliver it?  How will you measure your success?

 

 

 

8)  The ABCA requires a report (including receipts for expenses) from you when your project, or the portion of it for which the grant was awarded, has been completed.  Who will be responsible for that report?
